The Employment Pass allows foreign professionals, managers and executives to work in Singapore. Candidates need to earn at least SGD 4,500 ($3,354) a month and have acceptable qualifications. Employers must also demonstrate that they have fairly considered all job seekers.

Requirements
The Employment Pass is for foreign professionals who:
- Have a job offer in Singapore.
- Work in a managerial, executive or specialized job.
- Earn a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 4,500 ($3,354). More experienced candidates need higher salaries.
- Have acceptable qualifications, usually a good university degree, professional qualifications or specialized skills.
Application for an Employment Pass is open to all nationalities.
Renewal
After the initial 24 months, you can renew your EP for up to 3 years. The duration of the renewed pass is not affected by the length of validity of your passport.
Renewals are not guaranteed. Applications will be evaluated against current eligibility criteria.
Residency for dependents
As an Employment Pass holder, you can get certain family members to join you in Singapore if you meet the eligibility requirements.
- Earn at least SGD 6,000 ($4,473) a month.
- Hold an Employment Pass.
Family members that can be brought:
- Legally married spouse (Dependant’s Pass)
- Unmarried children under 21, including those legally adopted (Dependant’s Pass)
- Common-law spouse (Long Term Visit Pass)
- Unmarried handicapped children above 21 (Long Term Visit Pass)
- Unmarried step-children under 21 (Long Term Visit Pass)
- Parents (Only for EP holders earning at least SGD 12,000 ($8,945)

Household import
Importing used household articles and personal effects into Singapore will incur Goods and Services Tax (GST).
GST relief may be granted on imports of used household articles and personal effects to:
- Singaporeans and Permanent Residents of Singapore (PRs) residing overseas and returning to resume residence in Singapore
- Foreigners transferring residence or migrating to Singapore
The GST relief is subject to the following conditions:
That such person satisfies Customs that:
- He is changing his place of residence to Singapore;
- He is the owner of the articles, personal effects and personal pet imported;
- The articles and personal effects have been in his possession and used for at least 3 months; and
- The articles and personal effects are imported through air or sea.
The articles, personal effects and personal pets are imported within 6 months of his first arrival in Singapore.
An undertaking is provided not to dispose the articles and personal effects within 3 months from the date of import.
For returning Singaporeans and PRs, they must have resided in a foreign country for more than 6 months to qualify for this GST relief.
Pet import
Countries/Regions of export are categorized according to their rabies risk status. Dogs and cats coming from each country/region category are subject to different veterinary conditions.
These conditions include sending the animal for vaccinations, blood tests, and parasite treatments. Some conditions need to be fulfilled within specific time frames, so read the conditions for import carefully before you begin your application process.
Veterinary conditions for the import of dogs and cats according to country/region category are as follows:
Quarantine
- Animals from Category A and B countries won't be quarantined
- Animals from Category C countries will be quarantined for 10 to 30 days minimum
- Animals from Category D countries will be quarantined for 30 days minimum"
